905
CONGRESS

905 Congress stands as a long-time contributor to the character of the Congress Avenue historic district. It has seen many adaptations and renovations since it was built in the 1870s, but it’s 1930’s era Art Deco limestone façade is what distinguishes this two-story building – a strong, but humble piece of architecture.
Since 2002, Nelsen Partners has been headquartered in this iconic building. After several minor interior renovations over the years, a major renovation was undertaken in 2020 to support the firm’s growth and create a better working environment more suitable to the needs of the architectural practice.

The new design created an aesthetic and environment to parallel the quality of our firm’s work; with thoughtful interventions within the constraints of existing conditions that created opportunities for expression and a new character. A healthier and more sustainable environment was achieved through flexible space planning, deliberate material selections, and fully updated mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The renovated headquarters is a platform for and of design, allowing the firm’s practice and culture to flourish everyday.
