Lake Walk Town Center is the mixed-use core for Atlas, a 200-acre master-planned community focused on health and wellness. The development includes retail, office/research/medical, hotel and senior housing uses, as well as a 5-acre lake, an event pavilion, a 75’ observation tower and biking/walking trails. Nelsen Partners provided architectural services for multiple retail and mixed-use buildings, as well as the pavilion and observation tower. The award-winning Lake Walk Pavilion is the focal point for the community. The lightness of the structure and breath of span enabled an openness of space which supports multiple uses from yoga, to performance, to social gathering and even weddings. The honesty of the materials and the formal composition of the pavilion create a clear focus for the visitors of Lake Walk while simultaneously alluding to the architectural traditions and rich history of the surrounding region.
