INVOLVEMENT
Community service and public involvement are an important part of Nelsen Partners’ culture. This includes charitable giving, pro bono work, community and non-profit board service, university and speaking engagements, group participation in and fund-raising efforts for various community programs.
Giving
The firm has a history of making charitable donations to different worthwhile causes in our local communities and around the country, from national crisis response like supporting Hurricane Katrina and Ike victims, to supporting local arts programs. Beginning in 2014, Nelsen Partners began a new approach to their annual giving by enlisting the firm’s staff to make suggestions for organizations they deem worthy. After brief presentations by staff members featuring a multitude of impressive organizations and causes, the Board of Directors carefully evaluates and selects the finalists, which typically receive $5,000 each. Since this particular campaign began in 2014, the firm has donated over $150,000 to various non-profits focused on children, the homeless, and health & wellness programs.
Service
Nelsen Partners has provided pro bono services on multiple projects throughout its history. In support of the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, Nelsen Partners has provided architectural services for over 30 Diamondback Youth Fields and a Miracle League Field. We have also been providing services to Neighborhood Ministries in Phoenix, helping to transform their downtown site, from a run-down industrial site into a thriving community asset. Most recently, we provided design services for the Neighborhood Ministries Academic Success Center, transforming an old and dilapidated silo building into a modern and iconic educational center with adjacent playground.
