Throughout our firm’s 30-year history, we have been committed to giving back to those in need in our communities. In these especially difficult times, we are strengthening this commitment to supporting others, as well as reflecting on past and current projects that exemplify this core value. Watch video.
Chalmers Courts / Residential
From our Austin studio, we take great pride in our contribution to the affordable housing landscape – especially in East Austin. Commissions to date represent over 2,000 affordable units that have or will be delivered with great care into the fabric of Austin’s diverse neighborhoods. It is with great enthusiasm that we share this short film documenting the first phase of redevelopment of the historic Chalmers project in East Austin in collaboration with Housing Authority of the City of Austin and Carleton Companies.
Neighborhood Ministries / Adaptive Reuse
For over 25 years, Nelsen Partners has worked with Neighborhood Ministries to redevelop an abandoned 8-acre warehouse and manufacturing site in downtown Phoenix. Since starting with the master plan and first building back in 1995, we have since provided pro-bono services for the redesign of the dilapidated storage silos into a thriving education center, as well as support for a new playground and recently completed "El Mercado de la Comunidad" warehouse – all serving Neighborhood Ministries’ mission of education, uplift and healthcare to break the cycle of poverty in the surrounding community.
Diamondbacks Youth Fields / Community
In support of the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation, our Scottsdale studio has provided architectural services for over 30 Diamondback Youth Fields which allow children from across the state to play baseball and softball at quality facilities. We additionally provided services for the Miracle League of Arizona to create a fully accessible baseball experience for those with disabilities or special health care needs.
