Walk

This fifteen-story office tower includes 215,000 square feet of Class-A office space with 6,500 square feet of retail/restaurant space at the ground floor. Over 860 cars are provided in the above-grade and underground parking structure. The building has received a 2-star rating from the Austin Energy Green Building program. The tower design responds to several complex site parameters, including bridging the character of Austin’s downtown and market districts, creating unencumbered views of the Texas State Capitol and downtown, and accounting for solar orientation and the Shoal Creek floodplain. The design was conceived as two volumes that wrap a core. From the east, the glass volume takes advantage of north and east solar exposure and offers 10’-8” high glazing at each office level to optimize views. At the west, a sculptural precast skin offers a more dynamic aesthetic which is accented throughout the day with the play of light on the undulating form.

"The flooring is carried out from the lobby into the covered seating terrace at the front of the building to create a seamless transition between spaces. The lobby was designed with a direct connection to a future restaurant across from the elevator vestibule and reception desk." Tony Marco
